The history of trappers in the Rocky Mountain House Area date back to the time of the fur trade. Just as the First Nations hunted and gathered desirable furs, so did European trappers. These rugged and tough men ventured far into the vast wilderness in search of beaver pelts to trade for desirable goods. To this day, the tradition of trapping in the area lives on with many men and women owning and running their own traplines. Cheers to these hard working individuals both past and present.
