We’re looking for a skilled, driven Head Brewer who’s excited to join our fast-paced and expanding team. If you’re experienced, motivated, and eager to take ownership of the brewing process from grain to glass, we want to hear from you.
Job Description:
The Head Brewer is responsible for leading all brewery operations at Rival Trade, from recipe development and raw ingredient procurement to brewing, packaging, and quality control. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical skill, operational leadership, and a passion for excellence in craft beer.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day brewhouse operations, including wort production, fermentation management, packaging, and cleaning

Manage brewing schedule, ingredient inventory, and raw materials ordering

Maintain equipment and ensure all brewing vessels, lines, and tanks are properly cleaned and sanitized

Lead and support brewery staff involved in packaging and cellar operations

Ensure all beer meets quality, safety, and consistency standards

Maintain accurate records of brewing, packaging, and cleaning activities

Develop and refine SOPs and ensure they are followed consistently

Regularly review and assess product quality; adjust processes as needed

Ensure compliance with all sanitation, safety, and regulatory standards

Be a positive, collaborative presence in the brewery and a role model for the team
Qualifications:

Diploma in Brewmaster & Brewery Operations or equivalent education

Prior commercial brewing experience is required

Strong understanding of the brewing process and fermentation science

Physically fit and able to lift heavy items such as grain bags and kegs

Highly organized and comfortable with production schedules and documentation

Problem-solver with a high attention to detail

Experience with BREW or similar brewery management software is an asset

Able to lead by example, motivate others, and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
